Deutsche Einkaufsfinanzierer (DEF)

2008

DEF was a web application that automates purchase financing for SMEs, enabling suppliers to be paid within discount windows while granting customers extended payment terms. The system covered the full transaction lifecycle, from onboarding and credit checks to document generation and accounting export.

As a financing partner, DEF operated a triangular model between customers, suppliers, and the financier. The goal was to digitize and streamline the end-to-end process of purchase financing capturing requests, validating counterparties, coordinating supplier participation, generating documents, and completing or canceling transactions while ensuring transparency, speed, and auditability for all parties.

I helped design and implement a classic three-tier solution built on Java EE, using JSF with ICEfaces for a responsive web interface and JPA for persistence on relational databases. A state-machine-driven lifecycle governed each financing transaction, enforcing allowed actions, automating notifications, and ensuring consistent process flow. Integrated document generation and accounting data export supported downstream operations and compliance.
